Hon. Charles King, 33˚

The Hon. Charles King 33˚ was elected Grand Master in November 2021, at the 75th Annual Grand Lodge Session, held virtually. Grand Master Charles King is in his 1st year as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the State of Alabama.

A Message From the Grand Master:

My Brothers,

First, I want to say how humbled and honored I am that you have elected me to serve you as Grand Master this Masonic Year.

Most Worshipful Grand Master

Charles King

The Most Worshipful King Solomon Grand Lodge of A.F.A.M. for the State of Alabama has been in existence since 1946, however, it had to be re-established in 1978. I bring this up because our numbers are dwindling. Covid and other factors have not been kind to this organization, and I don’t want our history to include another re-establishment or reorganization due to a loss of membership or inactivity.

Freemasonry is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place. It’s a profound new sense of purpose and community. It’s a path of self-discovery and shared beliefs that make good men better sons, husbands, and fathers. And it’s walking upright and proud in the same tradition as the giants that came before us. In short, it’s a way of life.

Guided by the enduring principles of our fraternity, we make a profound difference for our brothers, our families, and our communities. As Masons, our commitment to personal growth and relief through charity is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place.

There are strong men with good morals that would be an asset to our craft, but the question is how do we reach them? We can no longer rely on the status of being a “Mason” and expecting the age old “2B1Ask1” because our world has changed, and we must adapt, or our organization will cease to exist.

Our Past Grand Master would often say “How strong would this organization be if every member was just like me”, therefore, I am telling you it starts at the top with myself. I commit to lead the Most Worshipful King Solomon Grand Lodge with Temperance, Prudence, Fortitude, and Justice, because I know that I cannot ask for what I am not willing to give. Furthermore, we will recognize good works because it is through those good works that we will allow people to see the heart of this organization as well as meet like-minded brothers.

Again, I look forward to a great upcoming year and let’s all do something great.

Fraternally yours,

Hon. Charles King, 33⁰

Most Worshipful Grand Master

of the State of Alabama
